Rogers & Willard Recognized Nationally for Safety Excellence by Associated Builders and Contractors

Rogers & Willard, Inc. has been honored with a National Health and Safety Merit Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), presented during the 36th annual Excellence in Construction® Awards at ABC Convention 2026 on March 19 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Awarded to just 59 contractors nationwide, the recognition highlights Rogers & Willard’s strong safety culture, proactive risk management practices and commitment to ensuring every team member is empowered to uphold the highest safety standards on every jobsite.

“This recognition reflects the heart of who we are as a company—our people,” said Mike Rogers, president of Rogers & Willard. “Safety isn’t a program at Rogers & Willard; it’s a mindset embedded in everything we do. Our team’s commitment to looking out for one another, holding the line on standards and doing the right thing every day is what makes achievements like this possible.”

The 2025 National Health and Safety Excellence Award winners were selected from ABC member firms that achieved Diamond, Platinum or Gold status in ABC’s STEP Health and Safety Management System in 2025, based on their 2024 safety performance data. During the evaluation process, contractors were reviewed on self-assessment scores, lost workday case rates, total recordable incident rates, leading indicator use, program innovations and interviews conducted by members of ABC’s National Health and Safety Committee.

“The safety record of Rogers & Willard, Inc. speaks for itself, setting the standard for a culture of care for its people,” said Thomas Murphy, 2026 chair of the ABC National Board of Directors and vice president of Power & Construction Group. “Safety values remain consistent for Rogers & Willard, Inc., which are nearly seven times safer than the industry average. They are employers of choice because they refuse to compromise on health and safety for every single employee.”

The National Health and Safety Excellence Awards recognize contractors across three major construction industry categories:

  • Construction of Buildings (NAICS 236)

  • Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction (NAICS 237)

  • Specialty Trade Contractors (NAICS 238)

ABC’s STEP program provides contractors and suppliers with a proven framework for measuring safety performance and benchmarking against peers across the industry. Participants regularly achieve incident rates significantly safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics construction industry average—demonstrating the impact of intentional, people-centered safety leadership.

The awards program is presented with support from CNA Financial Corporation, ABC’s longest-standing strategic partner.

This national recognition reflects Rogers & Willard’s continued commitment to building more than projects—it reflects the company’s dedication to protecting its people, strengthening teams and delivering work the right way, every day.
